This ranch is located about 72 km (45 miles) from Santiago and less from the airport. About 47 km (29 miles) from Valparaiso, which is the main port. There is also another port, San Antonio, about the same distance as Valparaiso.
The main ranch is for sale, plus a smaller piece of land which is on the other side of the road, which is where much of the water is extracted, this smaller lot is called "Lot A5".
There are mountains and high hills and the road that passes in front of the ranch, approximately 2.7 km (1.68 miles) of paved road, which leads form Casablanca - the nearest town, which is about 8 km (5 miles) to Algarrobo - a beach.
There is plenty of water underground and there is electricity.
The ranch has wells and there are underground installations for
a central pivote irrigation system.
There are 387 hectares ( approx. 956 acres) of plantable land perfect for grape vineyards and winery production. This is the opinion of a very prestigious winemaker in nearby Casablanca. There are many beautiful places where a house can be built and with excellent views of the area. Within the 600 hectares (approx.1,482 acres) you can decide where you want to settle in. There aren't any other improvements, except for a small wood house for a worker.
Someone may want to buy this land to hold, as an investment and not to plant vineyards. Just to enjoy the natural, clean native forests and wildlife. Have a great place to raise horses and enjoy life as it is, as the current owners and guests do.
With respect to if there are any issues with a foreigner owning land in Chile, they say there is no problem. I will have more information available shortly. American's do own land there.
Ranches as large as this one and as beautiful, I do not think there are any left in the area. If someone only wants a large piece of land and no one else around, this is it.
The attractions to this area are that it is located in the central part of the country.
Near the two biggest cities. Santiago and Viña del Mar - Valparaiso. In one of the most famous wine valleys in our country. If a wine investor is looking for somewhere to plant in this valley, this is perfect. Casablanca is comparable to the Napa Valley in California.
If someone who only wants to retire and rest, it is also where the seller tells me they would live. Because you are not far from the big cities, only an hour from Santiago and 40 minutes from Viña del Mar and just 20 minutes from Algarrobo, which is a fantastic beach resort. You can go to Santiago in the morning, shopping or what ever, and come back home in the evening. "That's how we do it, but we come back to peace and quiet".

Chile is a ribbon of exquisite coastline on the Pacific edge of South America. Stretching 2,826 miles, it is the longest country in the world. The majestic Andean range dominates the eastern part of Chile and marks its borders with Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.

The Population
The official language in Chile is Spanish. 5.5 million Chileans, approximately one third of Chile´s population, live in Santiago, Chile´s capital. The habitants are very homogenous; 95% have a European or mestizo family background, the rest descends from native habitants.
Santiago de Chile
Santiago is the capital of Chile, and is one of the country’s most popular destinations with real estate investors. It is also the economic centre of Chile and contributes 45% of the country’s total GDP. Santiago is one of South America’s main financial centres and as Chile’s economy continues to strengthen, many large multinationals have established their regional bases in the city, including Microsoft, JP Morgan, Coca-Cola, Ford, IBM, and Reuters. Residents of the bustling city have witnessed extensive development to its infrastructure over the last few years. Travel in and around the city has improved as a result of transport projects including building a series of freeway tunnels, and continuing work on the metro subway system. Construction in the city is moving equally quickly. Work is taking place in the financial district of Santiago on the Costanera Centre, which will include a mall, 300m tower, two 170m office blocks and a 105m-tall hotel. The project is expected to be completed in 2010. There are many other commercial and residential construction projects underway in different parts of the city, as Chile’s capital continues to grow.
The Economy
Chile is the richest Hispanic country and South America´s export leader During Pinochet´s legislative period (1973-1990), the economic system was transformed towards a more open economy, allowing free trade. Due to these legal changes, Chile has become the "Hispanic poster child". According to the annual corruption index, Transparency International, Chile is one of the countries with the lowest corruption index worldwide. Corruption in Chile is even lower than in some European countries such as France and Spain.
The Chilean gross domestic product has been increasing about 5% annually over the last 5 years, reaching an averaged per capita income of $7,500 US-Dollars. Chile is certainly the most affluent country of South America with the highest Hispanic balance of trade, being a positive exception from other Hispanic countries.
The special historical ranch listed for sale here is in the Casablanca Valley. The Casablanca Valley is the discovery of the last decade and today it is one of the fastest growing areas for viticulture in Chile, especially for Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Merlot grapes thrive in the cool growing conditions, showing high acidity and fresh fruit aromas.
The climate in this valley can be described as cold Mediterranean. Its closeness to the ocean tempers its climate and winters tend to be mild with only a slight risk of frost. Summers also are fairly mild with moderate temperatures (a Region I according to the Winkler system). November to April, the critical harvest period in the Southern hemisphere is usually dry.
The vineyards are planted on the flatter plains and on the gentle slopes of the Casa Blanca valley. Generally, the soil is of relatively poor quality with low fertility, and therefore good for growing wine grapes.
Vineyards operating now within this area are: Veramonte, Villard State, Viña Indomita, Viña Mar de Casablanca, Casas del Bosque and William Cole among others.
